Simply change the settings to fit your existing PokerTracker 3 installation and click \"Install PokerTracker 4 Beta\".

Please report every bug to [email protected]

Yours sincerly,

It's definitely spam.

As for where they got your email address, it's hard to tell. We don't sell or reveal email addresses or any other personal information about our users. It's possible they got a list of poker related emails somewhere and are guessing.

It's important that you do not download this, as it's very likely a virus.

Recently both Card Runners and Poker Table Ratings were hacked. Did you use that email address at either of those sites?

Yeah, this could be it. Did not know they have been hacked, have not been there for a long time.
I never thought about downloading it, just thought it could be interesting for the people here since I received another spammail some days ago (see sticky at top of this forum) and thought that that could be related.

Here is a screen capture of the fake application, if you have seen this window or opened a file named PT-Install-v4-beta.rar which contained the files shown in the screen capture, then you may have already been infected with the Virus/Trojan payload. We are working to discover what this fake download does, we are also investigating to see if we have the ability to shut down the spoofed website.

CardRunners.com and PokerTableRankings were both recently hacked, and TwoPlusTwo.com's archives were recently spoofed in a very similar way that the hacker is doing with the fake PokerTracker download. Please tell your friends to delete this email if received, the staff at PokerTracker want to make sure everyone remains safe and is doing everything we can to help solve the problem. We do not own the pokertracker-4.com domain name, therefore it may take some time as we attempt to shut the spoofed website down.

Chances are high that this is one hacker(s) that are working together as a team by gaining confidence off the backs of some of the most trusted brands in online poker, I recommend you take a look at every link you receive that is poker related first before clicking to be sure the address has not been spoofed.
