Not sure exactly how to upgrade my postgre?

Hi-

RUnning 8.3.7 thinking of upgrading to 8.4

Other posts say it should work.

However, in the release notes it say the following:

E.1.2. Migration to Version 8.4
A dump/restore using pg_dump is required for those wishing to migrate data from any previous release.

HOw do i do this?

You'd do it using pgadmin, as explained in the Database/Postgres FAQ (take a backup, then restore it in the new version).

That said we haven't fully tested to be 100% certain that PostgreSQL 8.4 will have no problems with PT3. You may want to wait until we've at least done that testing; there's no problems with staying on the 8.3 line for the near future.
