getting this error

i recently went from pt4 back to hem1 but now cant get pt4 to work again. need some help

Is PostgreSQL still installed on your machine? You can see if it is by clicking Start, typing services.msc and clicking on it when it appears and searching for a PostgreSQL service in the list.

its not on that list

Ok, in that case you're going to need to install it. You can find the download link here - you'll want 9.0, and the 64 bit version if you have a 64 bit machine.

installed but still getting the same error as in the picture above

Click Start and type 'services.msc' and open the Services window.
Do you see PostgreSQL in the list?
Is it started? Can you start it?

Be sure to enter the same port and password in PT4 that you chose when you installed PostgreSQL.

You may also need to check our Firewall Guide as some security software will interfere with PostgreSQL.

it was there but couldnt start it. got this error

also dont have a firewall

Do you have a file called postmaster.pid located in C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.3\data?
If so, delete it and try again.

i cant find that file. i have these files:

and these:
[ img ]
