3Bet Pots, actions on flop turn and river thread..:-)

Hi there,
I'm focusing on 3Bet pots, and general behavior when saw flop.

For starter, I'm trying to make a stat for the situation: "Villain RFI PF, faces 3Bet from SB or BB, calls the 3Bet, aggressor (the 3Bettor PF) checks flop to him, he checks".

I came up with something like this:

sum( if[holdem_hand_player_statistics.flg_p_first_raise AND
holdem_hand_player_statistics.flg_p_open_opp AND
holdem_hand_player_statistics.enum_p_3bet_action = 'C' AND
(val_p_raise_aggressor_pos=9 OR val_p_raise_aggressor_pos=8) AND
lookup_actions_f.action = 'X', 1, 0])...

It seems that this is not a valide SQL statement, and I'm just starting to learn this Sql thing, so I can't find the mistake. Regardless, does this expression gives me the stat I want?

You're missing "holdem_hand_player_detail." from the start of:
holdem_hand_player_detail.val_p_raise_aggressor_pos

(You'll also need to make sure you have a space after each "AND" but this is probably just due to you reformatting for your post?)

Minor point, you could simplify:
(holdem_hand_player_detail.val_p_raise_aggressor_pos=9 OR holdem_hand_player_detail.val_p_raise_aggressor_pos=8)
..to:
holdem_hand_player_detail.val_p_raise_aggressor_pos >= 8

Do you want to check that only two players saw the flop?
holdem_hand_summary.cnt_players_f = 2

First of all, let me just say that I super appreciate your help, and that I'm really getting the feeling that I'm starting to understand what's going on with this SQL stuff because of you guys.

Check-Check Situation:

I don't think you really need to check that the flop bet isn't a c-bet (given the preflop action it can't be), but they're both fine.

Your opportunities column isn't quite right, though.

Instead of
NOT holdem_hand_player_statistics.flg_f_cbet
..you need to check for:
holdem_hand_player_statistics.flg_f_open_opp
..which is an opportunity to open on the flop. This means that the opponent in the blinds checked to the player so they have the opportunity to bet or check.

I would suggest checking that your stat finds exactly the hands you want using the method described in this post if you want to verify that they are correct.
