Percentage of bad beat

Postby Dunge » Thu May 22, 2008 6:30 pm

Hi,

I'm trying to find out how much bad beat I had. I've found out I can program some filters in the reports tab but seem like it is missing something to do what I want, so I guess I need to do custom SQL queries directly in postgre or something. Anyway, I would like a rule like:

(Hands went to showdown AND Someone was allin AND (betting turn where >= 50% money of smallest stack player was put my winning percentage was better than him. AND he win)) / (total Hands went to showdown AND Someone was allin)

I don't know if it's understandable or possible, but I would like someone to code me the SQL query and tell me where to write it. I saw the possible filter val_f_hand_group to see the hand value, but it's only for the current player, I can't compare with someone else. Plus, it's only the hand group, not the real winning percentage.

I wouldn't get surprised if my number is over 0.8 ...

While this does sound interesting, I don't think there's a column that you can work with to do this (ie, your "equity winning %" in a hand). EG, if you had a flush draw and the other guy had an overpair, there's no column with "33%" that you could sum up and find out if you're running good or bad.

Some equity / EV functionality will be added. I don't know how this will be done yet, or what form it will take, but it's coming.

There is a basic EV graph available on the Cash Games > Graphs tab, but further functionality is planned.

Nice more about the bad beat, is the bad beat rake reported as rake in the rake tab, or is it not counted towards anything in the stats page? Would be nice if we could have a separate limits tab that shows that a table is a bad beat jackpot table and and another tab that shows the bad beat contributed to.

i.e have 2 different stats for $1NL table and a separate $1NL bad beat jackpot tab like there is on FTP where there is a $1 NL and a $1 NL Rush Poker showing different tables and that is really useful.

Bad beat rake should be reported the same as any other rake at this point in time as far as I'm aware. I agree though that having BBJ as a separate limit would probably be useful and I'll pass along that request to the development team for you.
