Statistics Questions (long)

Postby skelm » Wed Aug 20, 2008 7:54 am

Hi guys,

I think I have a pretty good general feel for AceHUD but I wanted to confirm a few things. Could somebody who knows for sure quote my post and add comments next to each section? I understand this will take some time so please mention your PokerStars username in your reply and i'll ship you some money for your efforts:

Continuation bet: This statistic is best interpretated as the percentage of flops that a user bets when they have the lead in a hand. Does this include when the flop goes c/c and then the preflop raiser leads the turn? Also, does this include times when the preflop raiser is in position against a caller and bets when checked to?

3bet: This statistic is best interpreted as the percentage time that villian raises a preflop raiser for any amount. Does this statistic include times that the villain 3bets Hero on the flop/turn/river or is it just an element of PFR?

Attempt to Steal: To my knowledge this statistic is an element of PFR and is the percent of time that the raise came from the Cutoff / Button in 6max games and Hi-Jack / Cutoff / Button in full ring games. Is this correct? Using this knowledge I currently weigh how positionally aware an opponent is so it's very important to me that this queston is accurate.

WTSD: This statistic is how many times an opponent went to showdown. Does this include times when both opponents were all in before the flop?

Agression factors: I understand that this is bet + raise / call however are there any decent guides out there for knowing what is a high flop agression facor / how to balance opponents betting and raising ranges based on these numbers?

Firstly, if you're using PT3 (which I assume you are because you mention 3-bets, you are NOT using PAHud, so please keep PT3 questions in the PT3 section of the forum.

Continuation bet: This statistic is best interpretated as the percentage of flops that a user bets when they have the lead in a hand. You can only c-bet the turn if you bet the flop - i.e. if it goes check-check on the flop, there is no turn c-bet opportunity.
(experiment with the c-bet filters - Filters button, Actions tab, NOT(Flop/cbet) AND turn/cbet-opportunity doesn't show any hands.

3bet: This statistic is best interpreted as the percentage time that villian raises a preflop raiser for any amount. Does this statistic include times that the villain 3bets Hero on the flop/turn/river or is it just an element of PFR?

The 3-bet stat you see on the 'Player Statistics' report on the 'General' tab is all 3-bets.
There are stats for 3-bet preflop/F/T/R as separate stats too.

A steal is any first-in raise (i.e. not after limpers) from the cutoff, button, or SB, regardless of table size.

WTSD: This statistic is how many times an opponent went to showdown. Does this include times when both opponents were all in before the flop?

Yes.
WTSD = 100 * (number of times player went to showdown) / (number of times player saw flop).

Agression factors: I understand that this is bet + raise / call however are there any decent guides out there for knowing what is a high flop agression facor / how to balance opponents betting and raising ranges based on these numbers?

These links have discussions about a few common stats, which IIRC includes AF.

Also, are you aware of Aggression Frequency, which gives a different way of looking at the same kind of thing? See this post:
