Cannot register on new laptop

I have a new laptop. I have previously only had a desktop. I have my registration code. I have downloaded v 1.18. Laptop has vista. I enter code and get message that computer cannot connect to your server. I have tried multiple times. Any help appreciated.

Try using 1.19.10.1 (see this post) and see if that works better. If it doesn't, please make sure all of your firewalls are disabled and try again; a rogue firewall could cause that sort of issue as well.
