What sort of maintainence and I supposed to do for SQL Dbs?

Hey guys, so I just recently upgraded to PostgreSQL and am in the process of converting all my access databases to it.

Just wondering what sort of maintenance am I supposed to do with PostgreSQL databases? I remember for access databases I needed to use the "one step compact poker and hand history databases" function quite often. Do I still have to do this for my PostgreSQL databases? What else do I have to do?

Also my other question, is there any size limitations to PostgreSQL databases? I remember when using access once my played hands databases reaches near 300k hands, it would start to get extremely slow when importing anything new, same thing went for observed hands databases when it reached nearly 400k hands. Does such a thing happen with PostgreSQL dbs? If so, at what point (in terms of # of recorded hands) do I need to start a new db?

Open the Utilities > PostgreSQL Database Functions window and click the help link at the top of this window. You need to be doing regular vacuum/analyzes and backups using this window.

There is no file size limit to an PostgreSQL db other than the size of your hard drive. Depending on your computer, it still may become slow but not during importing, that should still be fairly quick, even with a large number of hands in the database.

No, that is for Access databases only.
