Thanks to PT Pat, I have now managed to get my Poker Tracker working successfully on both my PC and my laptop.

Obviously I wanted them to be synchronised, but rather than continually swapping the .mdb file and possibly the history from one machine to the other, I pointed my laptop default database to the PC and it works fine if a little slow in the background.

First of all, I would like to ask if this is the most beneficial way of using PT across a network?

Assuming it is, I have a bit of a problem using the hand reviewer/replayer function. A hand that was played on the laptop will replay without a problem. But when I select the hand from my PC, there is no data to replay. I have tried moving the hand history from the laptop to PC thinking it picks it up from there. I have also 'imported' those hands all over from the PC even though I know they are already in there. But no joy.

Any pointers?

On the laptop you have to go the Start > Settings > Control Panel > Admin Tools > Data Sources (ODBC) window.
Click the System DSN tab.
Find the entry PTRACKHH entry and click the Configure button.
In the database section, click the Select button and point it to the hhdb.mdb file that is on the desktop.

Pat, I did as you said and then went to the desktop PC to see if it now showed the replays. But sadly it didn't.

I am hoping that you are not saying that all [ig0a]future[/ig0a] hands will go to the hh database on my PC? Because I have thousands of hands I would like to replay on the PC. :shock:

By the way, this doesn't mean that I wouldn't be able to replay hands on the laptop that were played on the PC, does it?

Copy the hhdb.mdb file from the LAPTOP and put in on the desktop hard drive DO NOT PUT IT in the PT folder or it will overwrite that DB, put it in another folder.

On the LAPTOP - go to the Utilities > Database Maintenance and Options window, click on the Hand History DB's tab and add a pointer to this file that you copied over to the desktop.

On the DESKTOP, do the same thing.

Now you should be able to replay everything.

Pat, I have now found that some recent hands won't replay on my PC.

Are you telling me I have to copy the hhds.mdb from my laptop to the location on my PC every single day? :oops:

No, the hhdb.mdb from the laptop should only have to be copied once because it contains the hands from BEFORE you changed the ODBC entry for PTRACKHH. Now all of your hands that you play on the laptop should be getting saved into the hhdb.mdb file ON THE DESKTOP. No new hands should have been imported into the laptop hhdb.mdb file. What is the modified date/time on the hhdb.mdb file from the laptop. It should not have been modified since the other day.

Ok, it seems I have messed up in that case.

As the hand was showing no information on my PC, I copied the hhdb.mdb from my laptop to the PC directory holding it and 'replaced' the one that was there. When I went back to the PC, the hand I was looking at played perfectly.

But I am now guessing from your reply that I have over-written a newer version with an older one? :(

Are you saying you overwrote the hhdb.mdb file in the c:\program files\poker tracker V2 folder on the desktop instead of putting it into a separate folder??
