PT very slow / crashes

Postby ashleyc » Tue Jun 03, 2008 6:14 pm

Over the last week or so PT has become very slow on my computer. I have compacted the databases but this had not made a difference. When I click on 'Ring Tab statistics' for example it maye take a few minutes to show the data and i get the Programme Is Not Responding message alot.

I have lots of hands on my database now - nearly 200k for me. May this be the problem? Is there anything that I can do?

I want to keep with PT2 for the moment instead of using PT3 as I play on Crypto / Betfair which aren't yet supported by PT3.

Regards

Ashley

Try setting some filters on the Preference tab like the date filter, for example only look at hands played since May 1, 2008. Does that help?

I have exactly the same problem,

Have tried to compact, defragged hd etc.

It seems like every time its gonna import hands "each minute" it goes threw the whole catalogue of 200k hands?

then someone told me to make a new database, and i did that ,but im not sure im doing it correct..can anyone explain how to make new database and have all old stats?

This is not the same issue you talked about in the first post. You said it was slow to open the stats window, you didn't say anything about it being slow importing hands. Please explain this above statement in more detail and also include what site you are playing at.

If you create a new db in PT, the stats will be in separate databases and you can't see them combined in PT although if you use a program like PokerAce, it will combine the data from multiple databases.

It is slow in everything i do, but it gets frozen for like 30secs when importing hands on every site i play on.

Do you belive that creating a new DB can change it ?

Are you allowing pt to move processed hands? Otherwise, it keeps reimporting EVERYTHING EVERYTIME. Had this problem once myself@

On the auto-import window, do you have the "Auto-rate on import" box checked? If so, the problem is likely that you haven't told PT to not auto-rate your own stats therefore it's taking this long. Uncheck that box and see if you can import hands without this type of lockup.
