how do I set up PT4 to auto import from a folder on a regular basis... is that possible ?

The Setup Assistant which ran when you first ran PT4 should have detected your hand history folders, but if not then you can set it manually via the menu Configure > Sites & Import Options. Select your site and if the path isn't set click Auto Detect. If that doesn't find it then click the Add or ... button to select it manually.
