Housekeeping for multiple DBs

Postby MaxWeiss » Thu Mar 22, 2012 6:07 am

I just finished importing all my tens databases and millions of hands, and I was really hoping to find the option, like is available in PT3, of selecting all the databases to run all the housekeeping operations on, but it looks like I have to do one by one, and I also have to reindex and update the cache separately as well.

Any chance you guys could allow users to select multiple databases and multiple housekeeping operations, so that I could just tell it to do all the housekeeping on all the databases and go to bed??

Unlike PT3, regular Housekeeping is not necessary for PT4 - you should not need to reindex unless you have a specific problem, and the default autovacuum functionality that is turned on in PostgreSQL should be sufficient to keep you from needing to vacuum/analyze except in specific cases (like if you purge a session or do a large import).
