Custom filter for hands with two players that have limped

Postby Lindsaythomas » Fri Oct 29, 2021 5:19 pm

Hi and thanks in advance for the help!

I am looking to create a custom hands filter that does the following:
Filters for hands where there are exactly two players that have at some point open limped (can be from another session). The players don’t have to have limped in that specific hand.

Any thoughts on how to do this via a custom filter? I am assuming I would need a relatively complex subquery.

You can filter for at least one player having ever limped (not specifically open limping) in a hand with this subquery:

Code: Select all
cash_hand_player_statistics.id_hand in (select chps.id_hand from cash_hand_player_statistics chps where chps.id_player in (select cc.id_player from cash_cache cc where true group by cc.id_player having ((sum(cc.cnt_p_limp) * 1.0) / (sum(cc.cnt_p_limp_opp) * 1.0)) > 0))

For open limping that would require a different subquery using custom columns from the custom cache since open limping isn't a built-in statistic.

To test for exactly two limpers I don't know how you would do that apart from testing each position specifically. If, for example, you play 6max games then there are 15 possible positional combinations of two players having an open limp stat greater than zero which is going to be an expression with a total of 90 subqueries (15 x 6). Also bear in mind that even just a single subquery generates a lot of PostgreSQL processing on large databases and I don't know how much longer it would take compared to a single subquery or if that would even work.

Thanks for the reply. Couple of questions:

1. I haven’t been able to find info about what is stored in cash_cache. Do you know if it holds info on if a player has posted a dead blind or cold called a 3bet? If so, how would I access that info?

2. Is there a way to modify this query to check for either if all players have at some point limped, or if all players have never limped?

In PokerTracker 4 go to 'Configure -> Statistics -> Columns' and every column that has the 'Cache' checkbox enabled is stored in the cache.

There are no default columns for that but you can create custom ones. See this guide for the basics on custom statistics creation and this guide for a deeper walkthrough.

You would have to test for every position in a hand.
